  • Well, depends on what you need to restart.

If it’s just a service or two, then it’s pretty quick.

Obviously you need to know, what you’re doing.
And I think that’s pretty hard with windows, because it never tells you, what it’s actually doing during an update.

With Linux it’s much more transparent and often the restart of a service is just part of my update routine.
No need to close and save all my open stuff, and reboot. Just restart the few services that got an update and that’s pretty much it.

So, really depends on the update, the transparency of it and also the personal insight/skill

I’m actually not sure if I’m falling for a joke here, but that’s how I remember that a spine looks like

Even if it’s a section view, there shouldn’t be 2 of them… Or maybe I just don’t see it correctly…

Edit: ah, now I somehow see it. But still, it doesn’t really look correct with the spinal cord like splitting it. Although given that this would be a bit hard to visualise in a 2D slice…
I’m still not convinced that this is actually correct ;-)

I was more thinking about not driving the car myself, but being driven as a passenger

Although it’s obviously a safety issue, when people turn away their focus to checkout a crash - no discussion about that - I was more thinking about the ethical issue of gaffing at injured people

Buy, when there is blood on street - or something like that was the saying
So obviously, people with money can exploit times, when everyone loses money/has no income and gets desperate

But triggering a global epidemic, would be more than overkill - imho, maybe in the heads of billionaires it makes sense

We didn’t need COVID for that

Give it a few years and those shops would be dead anyway - sadly

Small towns here tend to build large shopping centers near town border, which just hungers out local businesses

No need for COVID to accomplish that

Edit: and it’s not just about America, but about the whole world.
Wanna tell me, that Walmart planned a coup, just for US centric sellings and the also the rest of the world stood still?

Yeah, especially the COVID conspiracies are mostly brain dead stuff

The whole world pretty much stopped, which helps absolutely no one, but somehow those guys think, that a dark force is trying to kill the economy for…profit?

Also all the scientists and doctors are together in bed and just want people to stay indoors, because… I have absolutely no clue

It just didn’t make sense from the start.

Although I do get scepticism against new vaccine methods, but when someone tries to “explain” to me, that mRNA somehow overwrites my DNA and I should drink bleach instead…I usually don’t even know where to start to correct them

  • You’re losing anonymity, when you log into your VPN through TOR

TOR gives you anonymity, but if you connect through TOR to your VPN, which you probably registered with some of your data (or maybe your real IP), all the hops through TOR are useless, because your VPN connection is associated with you.

It really depends on who you want to hide from.
If it’s your ISP, then connecting over VPN to TOR could make sense, when your ISP is restrictive regarding TOR. But that’s pretty much the only usecase I can come up with at the moment
