      40 hours is the normal expected work week in the US. But most states don’t have overtime pay requirements until after 48 hours of labor in a single week. Some states require an unbroken 8 hour rest period inside each 24 hours but not much more than that.

          Many unions have become their own for-profit businesses that work with companies to keep their workers aligned with profit motivations of said business. But yes, I agree, we do need MORE unions who work for the workers.

            One does not throw the baby with the bathwater just because some unions turn corporatists, or just plain criminal organizations like police unions.

            Unions have to be properly regulated so they work for the people.

              I’m not disagreeing with you. Just adding on that many of America’s unions are no longer for the members of said unions. They just collect dues and stay out of the way of the corporations they are meant to protect the workers from. It’s immensely frustrating to see such lack of action from them.
