I used to drink a lot more both in days and number of drinks. I found out that I wake up better rested when not drinking. I also found out that I have trouble sleeping if I’m not active at all during the day, I have a mostly desk job, and I need to at least take a walk for an hour every night to allow my body to be able to rest at night.

I agree, I would actually consider this BP as normal-ish, wearing a too tight belt makes your BP rise higher.

I’m about the same age os OP, and before I got medicated I usually had 160/100 without any of these symptoms. My physician told me not to worry about it, which was bad advice in hindsight. My BP ultimately got to 190/110 which did cause problems and made very clear there was an underlying problem.

As someone who’s been (in the distant past) known to engage in questionable behaviour while black out drunk, you still need to be somewhat of an asshole to act like this. So he did mean it, even if he normally doesn’t want, and would be ashamed, to act this way.

In my case, being an asshole was influenced by my work environment, so I’m doing a lot better today, both on the asshole and the drinking front.

Thanks, I will. Luckily I realized the wrong quick enough. It wasn’t the knock out kind of failure, and they installed three stents in my arteries the very next day. Feeling good right now, though side effects of some medications can suck at times.

I had a real one last year, it was bloody awful and not like anything I’d ever experienced before.
