What?? What do you mean with a kid became lion king?
What?? What do you mean with a kid became lion king?
Wasn’t there a movie with Heath Ledger about that?
Damn that’s impressive. I mean I have no clue what Geocities is (and google didn’t give me anything) but still very cool. I was a kid in the 90s so I only found out about the band in the late 2000s but they’re great.
Lol as someone from biomedical sciences I thought you were speaking about applications in the broad field of biology/biological sciences. I was so excited to ask you about what companies would accept an “R strategy” application because fuck this, even for a technical assistant job I need a fucking tailored cover letter every single time because otherwise my application doesn’t even land on anyone’s desk.
Lol same, I always think oh crap an aneurysm is gonna pop now. First time I hear of this kind of headache.
I feel it helps imagining that you breathe into the picking area.
My husband is awful in that regard. He sees the first digit only and then rounds it down. “It’s just 30€” - it’s 39,99€. “It’s like 200€” - it’s 289,90€, “5000€” - 5999€. I love him to pieces but I don’t trust any of his numbers.
Not sure that’s how to math
It’s great that you found a diet that helps with your health and works for you!
You probably know this anyway and most likely implied it, but I just want to stress that carbohydrates per se are not bad. Yes, eventually everything is being broken down to sugar, but you should not reduce carbohydrates to this function only. Oats are mostly carbohydrates, but they are whole grain with a lot of fiber and are a great source for iron (if not eaten with dairy). Their GI is in the 50s but you would have to take the whole dish into account, as rarely you’ll just sit there munching oats like a horse. Buckwheat and quinoa are often praised for their high protein content (and it’s true, they have like 10-12g of protein per 100g) but they still consist mostly of carbohydrates. A slow breakdown of complex carbohydrates gives you long term energy without raising blood sugars too much.
I mean I guess that’s what they referred to, some approximation, but it still breaks my brain every time I think about it
Just like I once watched a video titled something like “this boy did the unthinkable” and then he did something very thinkable (he just ate someone’s face) and I am still mad about that
I remember reading he was one third German and sometimes I cannot sleep at night because I am trying to figure out the math. This has been like 15 years ago and it still bugs me.
Two days ago I wrote an overly sarcastic comment but it was late at night and apparently I both made it sound too realistic and didn’t put an /s - I didn’t think anyone would think anyone could be that stupid.
Turns out a lot of people assumed I seriously thought that my fictional dog’s vets were more likely to suggest euthanasia if they are Asian because I believed they used the corpses for meat and handed me fake ashes. I’ll definitely make sure to use /s in the future now. To both avoid looking like a racist conspiracy theorist and a dog owner.
Dude did you just reveal his identity and ruin his secret streak?
We had a problem with ants this summer and leaving the apartment for a week to return to a spider haven was the best thing we could have done. The spiders took care of them. We are still finding eaten shells of ants wrapped in spider webs. Thank you little leggys
The bad songs listed are their greatest hits though
I agree with you 100%, every sentence, and now I don’t know whether I should up- or downvote you
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely agree that we need to neuter cats and dogs. I just personally cannot bring myself to make this decision for an individual cat that I have to decide for. If I was getting a pet I would absolutely neuter it, but I prefer to just not get a pet to not have my mind wander down that road of “damn, did I just assume what my pet would want and put my values on them or did I do something responsible by interfering with their body”. Same for most decisions.
A friend who had two breds from the same parents (different litter) said that you can predict the personality better in breds, while with unknown mixes you can get a manic dog and that they all have behavioral problems.
As you might have guessed by now, I am very much not a dog person. And I have no place to judge her statement. But I can imagine that there are a lot of dog owners who think like that.
Btw I’m in Germany, so is the friend. There is some Nazi joke in all of this that I am too lazy to make.
It’s probably area and/or country dependent
Imagine you wanted children and then someone would come along and castrate you because there’s a problem with overpopulation. You take away an individaul’s choice of reproduction for the greater good. And it makes sense, but the lack of consent or even understandment does not sit well with me.
Putting down pets is another thing. You make the decision whether a (sick/suffering) animal is going to die, while we are refusing to allow people to make this decision for themselves in most countries.
I absolutely see your point and I would not say you are wrong about it. But to me these are ethical questions that I just don’t wish to answer because there is not really a right answer.
I see Pluto and Charon as Irish twins. Or at least 2 under 2. I somehow always imagine two siblings spinning around each other. Maybe Pluto is showing a 🫶 to his little sister.
