Voice notes on WhatsApp/iMessage is essentially the exact same thing as voicemail but for some reason zoomers are happier with those.

Kieth is still preferable to some of the other mascots out there. Looking at you Sudo Sandwich -
With poker the house takes a “rake” from each hand so they get a certain % of whatever is being gambled for hosting. Since the game involved skill they have to do this to ensure they are making money regardless of who wins.
Pretty much every other game is like you describe; people being bad at maths and conditioned to keep going with inconsistently timed rewards.
I had friends who used to play online poker in uni. They’d have 5 or 6 screens open at once and just play the dominant strategy for each hand. Was good for some extra beer money.
Also work with a dude who is a former professional poker player. Although when he explained his schedule to me it sounded a lot like a regular job. Good years he could make £40k out of it but not crazy money.
There was an excellent text based RPG called Roadwarden that came out the other year. It’s just text and illustrations so thought I’d use this post to mention it.
If small amounts of animation are allowed then WORLD OF HORROR was decent too.
It’s common in a number of different countries, not just India. Typically in the Middle East region.
I believe the logic would be something in between an extended handshake and the Western reasoning for holding hands. Like, “I am giving my attention this person”.
Philosophy of science was big when I was still studying it. Stuff like whether the Linean System of classifying species were still fit for purpose or the gaps in our knowledge that modern physics leave.
My impression of it being like that is largely due to the split between analytic and continental philosophy. Anglophone universities tend to focus on the former and then the latter has a larger body of work from mainland Europe; the many French existentialist philosophers would be a good example.
I’ve got two philosophy degrees, an undergrad and a masters.
Philosophers tend to avoid that question and argue about extremely niche things like Ship of Theseus problems.
Visiting Amsterdam as a Brit does typically make me feel ashamed of my fellow countrymen though.

Basically the concept is that science is a continually evolving process where we get increasingly accurate understanding about how things work. However since science progresses by falsifying previously held beliefs we can speculate that all of our current scientific theories are technically false.
Agree, haven’t had to use it for a while. Not sure why I was defending it… maybe couldn’t resist an opportunity to dunk on zoomers.
