Sorta. But I think the problematic part of a midlife crisis is the irresponsible reckless behavior (say unaccounted for big expenses) that affect the people around you. If you’re not doing that then pop off, have fun, life is short!!

+1 for matrix. Also check out schlidichat which is a nice client for matrix forked from Element
WhatsApp bridge on a matrix server self hosted is prolly as good as it gets. Run Android on a VM for the WhatsApp Android app on it
102·7 months agoI heard someone describe it as discussing a topic in different bars. You’ll get a slightly different niche in each space. Has its pros and cons. But beats the centralization.
