Agree on Wireguard. It is faster, more stable and most likely more secured than SSH. And it will work with any application (no per-application configuration required). Without a third party tunneling service, you will need to expose a port in any case (you can setup port-knocking if you want to).

DHT is autonomous and does not require a tracker. Usually it is only used as a fallback as a regular tracker is quicker. It’s p2p, and is split accross people hosting it.

Bitcoin was not «captured» by anyone. The community agreed on not increasing the block size (actually on a slight one-time optimized increase with segwit). Although their use is marginal, there are several Bitcoin-core alternatives (functional node implementations). Both node admins and miners always had a choice. The Bitcoin brand is what the majority of people consider it to be.

Roger Ver is just upsed and can’t admit being wrong. Bitcoin’s most important feature is decentralization. Without it, it becomes censorable and «permissionfull», just like CBDCs.

I use BTRFS for the same. Being able to check for and repair silent corruptions is a must (and this is without needing to read the whole drives, only the actual files). I’ve had a lot of them over the years, including (but not only) because of a cheap USB controller also.

It seems to me that there will be much less relays than there are AP nodes. Users won’t publish/subscribe to hundred of relays (if they did, relays would not scale). Hence more bad content to less moderators, and poor moderation.

Adding client filters would just shift the censorship power to those maintaining them.
