Yes, but I want to emphasize that it’s not a lack of skill or focus of the Linux phone developers. Calling is exceptionally complex to implement if you have to reverse engineer all drivers and the used hardware is closed. Most of the other stuff on the software level such as menus, apps, browsing etc. is “basic computer stuff”.

Unfortunately Linux phones are not that mature yet. Often they lack basic functions like “calling”.

I thought the same. The bar for “memes” got really low recently.

I tried everything for my Poco F1 in 2023, some Qualcomm tools, trying to go into EDL mode, using some weird firehose files with the MI flash tool. I read every fucking XDA thread. I even brought that phone to a shady repair service station near me, nothing worked.

The only option I did not use were some sus af indian Telegram channels that sold that service for 20 bucks.

Don’t tell me the phone is always recoverable, because sometimes it is fucking not.

After they raised the price to 3€ during inflation I never bought that product again. Also !buyeuropean@feddit.uk !
