We can barely apply morality consistently within the same culture or society, almost as if morality is a tool for the powerful.
Wishing for my death or a World War. Either will do. Because FML or this world.
We can barely apply morality consistently within the same culture or society, almost as if morality is a tool for the powerful.
I don’t believe in a inherently moral universe. Isn’t it arrogant to think that morality, a concept we invented, has to be applicable universally, across all space and time? Somehow, I doubt so.
But with a more powerful engine, the wait will have more power.
AI was supposed to help us do things we couldn’t do. Not do things that we could already do worse.
Happy to see free market working as intended.
We are remarkably slow to fire. I think we are poop canons, not poop guns.
I propose we call meta and other snoopy mega corps “Mega Sibling”.
Of course, he must’ve gotten a sense of accomplishment from this.
When I contribute to an open source project I get the same feeling too. I can even brag about it during interviews. But, It’s not why I do it. I learnt a lot from open source projects and I am just paying it forward. What I got from these projects is more than what I am able to contribute to.
But, Life is not a zero-sum game. We don’t have to do things in exact proportions. That would make it a business transaction. Bob Ross definitely gave a lot to his viewers. In my eyes, that makes him a hero.
Bob Ross is a hero and must be celebrated as such. Fuck Zuck with a cactus.
I agree. We really should stop making assumptions. But, it is a skill that must be practiced. Mindfulness helped me a lot.
Our minds are remarkably bad at estimating probabilities because they are always operating on limited information combined with high bias.
One of the best advice I got during my therapy sessions is that:“Just because a thought occurred in your head doesn’t mean that you have to accept it as truth. Our minds are well-known for making stuff up.”
Y tho? Library computers at my uni ran Solaris. It sucked.
The reason they want more H1B visas is to drive down the wages. People like Musk and Trump, in addition to high cost of living is why I didn’t apply for H1B, even though US simply has more opportunities for someone like me than anywhere else in the world. But there is no point in having a job, if the wage is insufficient.
More H1B visas might be beneficial to people like me, but in the long run it could be hurt everyone except business execs.
I wish this would bring about a welcome change. But, that would be naive-
Repeat after me: healthcare should not be profit driven…
