AFAIK this will only get you 720p to 1080p depending on the streaming service. No 4K, no HDR.
You can install DNS content blockers (like NextDNS) on Apple TV which will take care of a good chunk of ads and privacy violations. This also works if you install a VPN App that has those options.
Not sure what you would install on a shield that would be much more effective. Maybe you could explain.
I have a second bank account with a credit card for daily spending and online purchases. It only has a certain amount of money I expect to need for the month. If I need to make bigger purchases I’ll have to transfer the funds to it first.
Also things like Apple/Google/Amazon Pay hide CC info so you could use those instead when they are available.
And then there is the kinds of people who cry about Signal dropping support for SMS.
Old man yelling at clouds
SMS is a dead technology as it should be. It’s not private or secure in any way and the apps you listed probably just don’t give a fuck about implementing it in a way that is.
If Signal had just 1 person working on keeping it alive it would still be money that could be spent elsewhere. Like the username feature I had been patiently waiting for, which was delivered recently and is a great addition.
People like this have lost ctrl of their lives.
Thank you for the work you put into this.
A suggestion if you don’t mind: Use headings and bullet points to structure the text and make it easier for the reader (and maybe yourself) to take in the information. As it is it’s a wall of text that is hard to parse.
Scary in what context? For the user? For you as the host? Something else I’m not thinking of?
That’s one product, does that really justify OPs remark “After years of pushing their proprietary and closed solutions”?
Who are you quoting? And which proton solutions aren’t open source?
Velcro ties ftw.
