I am only critical that those models are in the hand of corporations who try to profit from it. Copyrights are mainly a tool to be wielded by the powerful: see Sony trying to disconnect ISP accounts en masse or media giants suing people into oblivion, Nintendo fucking over their fanbase again and again and so on.

The datasets should belong to an UN organisation like UNESCO, corporations/NGOs/people should be able to licence them to build their models (ev. with “community models” provided free for personal use), and the licence fees should be used to subsidize culture. This plus an UBI would make sure that artists don’t have to starve, corporations can use them to try to make a profit, and everyone else can use them to create for their own or their communities use. Artists that don’t want to go into the datasets have that right too, but also won’t have access to that financial pool (this shouldn’t be the only pool).

I agree, locally hosted AI tools for image or text generation don’t use lots of power, only do what a user wants and not what a corp wants, and are a valid hobby or working tool. It’s sad that so many people are blinded by their hate towards corporate AI and don’t differentiate.

You don’t die from the bacteria, you die from their toxins - same situation as with botulinum toxin)

Noone vaccinates a newborn against Tetanus; there are other ways of treatment, but they are no fun and include a long stay in intensive care, feeding a high calorie diet per IV (tube feeding is not possible), and a permanent diazepam iv drip to keep the muscle spasms - that can break bones - under control.

You know whats fine regarding salts? They dissolve when not in ubiquitous amounts (go read up on your chemistry, man). Now you just have Aluminium! You know what the first thing is a medic asks you when you come in with an open wound? He asks you when you had your last tetanus shot. If you even blink before answering that question, you have that vaccine needle in you faster than you can say “autism”.

Tetanus is deadly as hell, and even if not deadly can cause massive tissue damage. Disinfecting the wound won’t help you when the wound is deep, you can’t clean that shit more than removing debris (btw, disinfection of open wounds isn’t done in many cases, because the disinfectant damages the healthy cells that are busy healing the wound, causing longer healing times and bigger scars)
