Have you watched Shrinking? I know it’s not a particularly ethical representation of therapy, but I’ve been curious to hear a therapist’s opinion of it as escapism.

That doesn’t sound like a good therapist.
I agree. But my wife was so firmly in the white/gold camp that I had to find this (and a better image of the actual dress, which is indeed blue and black) to help us understand one another’s perspective.
It’s more about the colors around it. This image from Wikipedia does a really good job illustrating the effect.
Context is extremely important in identifying color. As Technology Connections tells us, for example, “brown is just orange with context.”
That’s like 7,5 million Germans.
Dude I love that shit. Especially citrusy flavors. But everyone’s tastes are different.
I’ve got this bad boy. Has a nice big battery in it, can last a few nights without being charged.
It’s not a fan, but the white noise is really good and it has lots of sound options. Highly recommended.
I remember being able to run a private World of Warcraft server on my computer back in like, 2009. Surely if WoW can be reverse-engineered, so can many other titles.
But yes, it would obviously be better if they’d just open-source it.
There was at least one care bear on Lemmy saying ‘think of his family’, etc.
Nah, I will think about the families of the tens of thousands of private insurance victims instead.
I don’t think empathy is a zero-sum game.
Fuck the CEO and his company’s practices. Sic semper leeches-who-profit-from-making-healthcare-worse.
But I still feel for his kids who lost their dad, and his parents who lost their son. Just like I feel bad for the families who lost people because they were denied healthcare.
Callousness toward the pain of other people isn’t a trait I want to nurture in myself, personally.
Gotta move with the times, man. Emojis are a great way to add tone to text-based conversation for those who didn’t grow up in IRC chatrooms, learning to apply tone to the text itself.
Excessive use of emojis can be annoying, but in concept I think they’re fine.
Yeah. My phone can generate a 512x512 image with Stable Diffusion in like 20 seconds with the right settings.
The number of books read by children, obviously.
Yeah security has never taken my resin vapes.
Oh duh, lol 🤦♂️
I don’t even have a microwave. I understand the concept, however I prefer home made meals.
Microwave is just a tool for heating stuff. You can use it for homemade meals, too, although you gotta know your machine and its limitations (just like any tool). It’s most useful for reheating stuff quickly, though.
Climb out of blanket cocoon. Pry open can. Empty into bowl. Fill can with water. Empty into bowl. Put in microwave for three minutes. Stir. Microwave for two minutes. Go back to huddling under blankets.
(Like I said, I mostly eat soup when I’m sick. Don’t care much about taste or quantity in that case.)
You’re not wrong in any way though.
Makes sense. I also almost never want to waste time cutting veggies and stirring in pasta and whatnot when I want soup. Personally I almost exclusively eat soup when I’m not feeling well. 😅
I have no idea how to make clam chowder for cheaper than a can of clam chowder.
There’s an episode of 30 Rock where Tina Fey’s character has to decide between chasing a man about to get on a flight and leaving a dish of dipping sauce for her sandwich, or eating said sandwich.
I think there are like, seven of them and they don’t talk to each other.
