I like pair domains.
Just a shiny male toy…
I like pair domains.
I’ve got a small Enterprise customer running on a Dell r710, 2gb ram to the slightly custom docker image for nc, 4gb+ for the woods sit, the other 14gb to KVM to run a windows application.
You know, I just thought about it and realized I do too sometimes. That’s actually kind of fascinating.
It’s sad how much waste goes into building stuff. Like you really don’t see it till you’re in it, it’s mind boggling how many plastic baggies I get from digikey for example.
Working on environmental r&d I keep trying to tell myself the ends justify the means, the ends justify the means, but… worried about it.
Anyway! Glad we’re experienced at reducing waste as the years have passed. You, me, possibly the other readers. We’re doing the best we can.
Nah man, these were terminations from companies like L-com, molex for a little while, etc.
You’re absolutely correct otherwise, but we spent money on what were supposed to be reliably engineered products by large connector companies. The wire was supposed to be good stuff too. I was a lot younger so I don’t remember the exact details honestly.
Ideally yes, but I’ve had to do this regularly for many services developed both in-house and out of house.
Solve problems, and maybe share your work if you like, I think we all appreciate it.
In my experience, long term reliability of crimped stranded cable (that particular combo, to be clear) has lower longevity with vibratory environments.
There are some crimps that are great for stranded, but the RJ series (and others which stamp down) generally don’t seem to be good enough.
Again, anecdotal, but yeah.
Halcyon & on & on…
I’m an older fella who supported BSD systems before transitioning careers, the damn fact that you can’t just read a log file by default was enough to get my hairs up. I like using other simple tools to handle parsing for important info or events as well.
I still subscribe to the philosophy as you put it, a system is only as reliable as it’s components… the sum of simple tools worked way better than systemd ever has in my opinion.
Jesus fuck. I didn’t know this Arab Emirates type shit was happening at a policy level. What the fuck man 😡
I dunno why I love everything about this.
✅ Showing how stupid the idea of property is
✅ Mucho cute
✅ What the what?
… Maybe for those exact reasons, never mind.
Don’t complain man, older I’ve gotten, faster time has flown. Real talk.
I use it because on my bike I need to set the correct minimum RPM after cleaning my carbs. Also sometimes I want to go faster than I should in 6th, a quick glance at the tach tells me how much headroom before redline I’ve got.
Nah man, if you see your tach wobble, you know you’ve got a carb jet issue, or dirty injectors.
No, I’m building a replacement unified speedo/tach for my motorcycle, the tach is huge and analog, speed is digital in the middle.
Don’t they sell add-on projector Huds which snake a wire down to OBD-ii port?
Lmao, high beams, no seatbelt at 108kph for a 30kph speed limit. Ooof.
Cry about it and reflect on it, bitch.
Pair domains supports ipv4/6 DNS, Dnsmasq, and dynamic DNS. Cheap, 2fa secured and does the job reliably.
