  • Yeah it’s not just made up by big business, it’s the same as when COVID hit.

"Oh, our product is going to be 20% more expensive due to supply chain disruptions… Might as well raise the price by 50% and pocket the rest while blaming it all on the supply chain.

Customers will be mad it’s going up by 20% so they won’t be any more mad if it goes up by 50% instead."

  • Do the eggs just go to waste then or do you need to eat a lot of extra eggs if you can’t sell them for $5/dozen?

Wouldn’t it make sense to lower the price to what people will pay even if it doesn’t cover the cost of the chickens, but at least reduce the cost of the chickens? If it’s not your main source of income and you have the chickens either way wouldn’t some money be better than no money?

Because emergencies are so rare. Many adults are quite unprepared for a lot of them as well.

It’s different if you were to leave like a 1-2 year old in the care of someone but it’s generally okay to leave a 5-10 year old in the care of a 14-15 year old. They mostly just need to feed them and make sure they go to bed.

Plus it gives the teens responsibility and some extra money to spend and it helps them get prepared for the future. Usually if it’s a super young one the teens tend to have first and courses suitable for young children as well or actual baby sitting certifications from a course of some sort.

  • It’s not necessarily the companies in this case at least not for the tomato sauce.

It’s deceiving how much sugar is also in natural, unprocessed and healthy foods.

According to Google there’s about 2.6g of sugar in a 100g tomato, and it takes roughly 2200g of tomato’s to make a jar of sauce the size of a 680g jar of ragu, which according to their nutritional facts has about 43g of sugar in the jar, whereas the raw tomato’s themselves would have contained about 56g of sugar.

It takes a lot of tomatos to make pasta sauce. Even a little sugar in one tomato adds up quick.

  • Depending on your garden you sort of do crop rotation anyways in many setups.

Like if you have four quarter plots of a 48ft2 piece of lawn and do a different crop in each quarter, then rotate the next year. Makes it easy for even yourself to harvest. Easier to notice where your ripe beans to harvest are when they aren’t mixed in with your corn plants.
