If you speak English everything you spell is objectively wrong to its phonetically correct counterparts you are just following culture rather than being ‘correct’
If you wish to be correct develop a method of writing that uses English’s fuck load of hidden vowels and consonants to have a 60 letter long alphabet which is also phonetically correct!

Language is a figment of ones imagination and linguistics behave based on popular opinion, it doesn’t ‘work’ but it’s shaped based on popular culture and common beliefs, and every rule now created or represented to give proper outlines to the language aren’t always correct and only serve to help outsiders and other linguists establish connections by using similarities of the rules between other languages rather than it’s own which is a fickle construct that always changes and can be seen actively changing in every country language or culture
