Yeah, I had no idea what was going on until I read this comment.

Upon closer inspection the stripe is clearly white on the first image, but the second one really threw me off because it looks the same color as the floor. I’m also slightly colorblind so that probably doesn’t help.

I’m personally a fan of the 12 hour format for casual conversation and 24h for anything else. 4 PM or 4 in the afternoon sounds better than 16:00 for casual speak imo.

But man, I’m bad with the 24h format lol. I often need to consciously correct myself in that 18:00 =/= 8 PM.

The capybara with airpods, lol. Are capybaras particularly popular with Gen Z?

It’s interesting to me to see the airpods aren’t even in its ears, which I take as the LLM not recognizing that the capybara’s ears are ears. Or maybe it doesn’t recognize that airpods belong in ears, and just sees that it generally goes on the side of the head where ears usually are. It really is fascinating technology, shame it’s used in the way it is.

TBF, her original comment was about being able to beat up strippers in GTA5, not about T&A specifically. Not that the context makes it any better. You can beat up just about anything in GTA, taking issue with specifically the strippers is just looking for things to be mad about.

I don’t think there ever could be observable evidence of a changed timeline. Especially nothing stupid like Marty slowly fading out of existence in Back to the Future.

But tbh, I’m not sure going into the past to change something is actually possible in most cases without creating some sort of time paradox. Interacting with the future shouldn’t cause any problems, but the past is probably set in stone. After all, if I went back in time to assassinate hitler, there is no reason for future me to go back in time to kill hitler since he was already killed, causing hitler to never get assassinated. And on and on it loops.

everybody is saying the quiet part out loud

But therein lies the difference. And it’s not just saying the quiet part out loud, it’s doing the quiet part out loud. Sure, it’s never been great, but 30 years ago the president wasn’t a cult leader openly trafficking people to offshore torture camps and proudly disobeying court orders while getting cheered on by his followers.

Tbf, the vast majority of these creatures are significantly more powerful than humans, and many significantly smarter. They seem perfectly okay with it. I mean hell, you can capture and battle with Poke-God himself. I like to think of it more like a sport all pokemon love or some shit than Pal World-type slavery.

I’ve never understood how one can just throw out half their holy book because their God (supposedly) decided to change the rules. This does not change the fact that he (supposedly) did these evil acts. If you just ignore the parts of the bible you don’t like, God’s a pretty great dude! An argument against Yahweh’s character does not change depending on which parts of the bible are still valid, unless your claim is that the old testament was never valid. In which case, why believe any of it?

Regardless, even the new testament depicts a despicable being. Would it not have been easy, as an all-powerful and all-loving god, to tell people not to own slaves? But no, instead in the new testament slaves are told on multiple occasions to obey their masters. One can preach about love all they want, but when their holy book endorses slavery, I cannot take them seriously.

Regarding your last point, that’s just false. I can criticize the Joker as being evil for killing hundreds, thousands of people. That doesn’t mean the Joker or Batman are real. That’s because I’m criticizing a being described in a story, not something I believe is real.

Edit: I, too, will extend my thinking here. If you believe in an all-powerful and all-knowing god, you need not even look any further through scripture for evidence that he is an evil being. He had the power to create any world with full knowledge of what would be to come, and the world he chose to make was this one. One rife with childhood cancer, slavery, starvation, torture, and natural disasters. This is not a world created by an all-loving being.
