Yeah, this for sure. I also really prefer cooler and cold weather, but a lot of people seem to prefer warmer weather. Meteorologists don’t idolize warm weather, they talk that way about warm weather because that’s how most people view it; they are catering to their audience.

Though, I also don’t think it’s uncommon for people to prefer colder weather, either. It seems a pretty close split between hot and cold weather, with the majority of people liking it somewhere in between. The language around cold weather is just a little different, and there are less outdoor activities that are focused on colder months. I grew up in an area with resorts for tourists from a large city, and the local weather reports absolutely talked about good weather for skiing and such in the winter.

Maybe it’s just the circles I find myself in, but I’ve never heard any big criticisms of the Horizon series, much less it being “unoriginal”. I agree that Horizon is better than BotW, but BotW is a fantastically fun game on an accessible mobile platform.

Don’t have anything counter to your arguments, just that I’ve never heard anyone voice an opinion contrary to it.

I disagree with that. Content creators need to adapt to survive with the modern algorithms. Those algorithms are trash and the censorship behind it can eat a fat one, but the creators are just trying to get paid.

Now, bringing that self-censorship into real life, into casual conversation with friends, off of platforms that are monetized… that is what annoys me. Not because they are difficult to read, that’s just an evolution of slang, but because it muddies the language and weakens our ability to communicate. “Unalive” instead of suicide or killed makes it seem less serious, less graphic, at least to me. And that’s the whole point of why they are using replacements in monetized content, because it is safer, but sometimes language needs to be harsher.

Oh, damn, hey everyone else that owns a casino, close it down! Nevada has Las Vegas and Reno, no point in existing elsewhere!
