Which SpaceX subsidies are you referring to? Just the contracts they’re fulfilling for NASA and the DOD?
So would only Tesla not be able to get ev tax credits? The other big manufacturers also have huge pull in government. Though I agree having Elon making decisions is a disaster and extremely prone to abuse.
They do. That’s what these subsidies are. But it does mean Tesla can change more.
Sure, but that doesn’t change whether subsidies should be granted or not.
Cutting EV subsidies would lead to more gas cars, which isn’t good. Investing in public transit would be better, but encouraging EVs is also good.
There’s a great video by Scott Manly on the subject if you want to learn more. It’d smaller than some nukes we’ve tested, and would land somewhere around the equator between the Atlantic and China if it does hit. It looks surprisingly feasible to deflect, but it’d be a time crunch to put a mission together in only a couple of months. Plus it might deflect it into hitting a different country.
Yeah, hexbear and .grad seem to be mostly tankie users, but it seems much more split on .ml. The admins are questionable, and I’ve seen tankies there disproportionally, but since it was the default instance for a long time, there are also a bunch of non-tankie users. I think lumping .ml in with hexbear and .grad really downplays just how bad those two are.

When hexbear federatedn with SJW, I spent a day arguing Russia invading is bad actually, North Korea isn’t a democratic utopia, and China isn’t a shining pillar of socialism.
