so I recalled hearing about some kid who watched the lion king and wrote about wanting to ‘become lion king’. Part of the discussion where I heard about it was questioning if he meant becoming the movie or one of the lions.

Anyway, he wrote about having the movie buried with him, and maybe killed himself. I’m fuzzy on that part and never found it again to verify.

that reminds me of when I was telling a friend about the kid who became lion king. he didn’t believe me and when I tried to find it, any trace of the story had disappeared from this plane of existence

the main reason the ereader works for me is the ability to override pretty much every aspect of the text. I can do most non glossy paper and text but some books and especially textbooks are a real bitch and everyone thought I was just making shit up when I was in school. text size is usually ok but I tend to make it bigger so I dont need glasses

10 years ago I ate a lot of bulk bagged cereal. at the time even some of the ‘natural/organic’ brands were cheaper by weight. I stopped when it became about the same and I was also sick of cereal. probably close to 7 years ago like you said.

ebook is the only way to guarantee I can read the book. page material and gloss, layout, spacing, kerning, etc. can all combine in various ways to make me inexplicably unable to read or have a really hard time reading where I have to focus really hard on each letter rather than each sentence. Oled has made is possible for me to read large bodies of text on phones but for full books I always go for the eink.

honestly unless you are planning to develop for them and can improve the jankiness, neither. base pinephone is too weak for literally anything, even running that super minimal os. pro I only had for a few days before selling due to having no time for it but it was only powerful enough for me to think specs wise that’s what the original should have been for the year it came out. I kept the basic one because I already did the open source modem firmware or whatever it was but its probably way out of date now.

If this is way out of date and things have improved much, someone tell me please.

I don’t really see being poor as a tradition. I’ve seen enough people present racism as a tradititon and I don’t like that either. My dad has been facebook’d and keeps wanting to do ancient medicines because “the government took them away from us”, and has asked where to get some definitely dangerous substances. There are indeed a lot of things people call tradition that I don’t like.

I don’t think changing a couple ingredients breaks tradition when most old recipes were just throwing whatever we had together and trying to make it at least minimally enjoyable for bonus points. I guess it’s different for wealthy people in the past much like it is now, but if it could be improved cheaply or for free when it was new either due to ingredients or skills and knowledge, everyone would have done it. Some things were probably also just good enough that nobody bothered changing it, but now most people are conditioned to really high sugar and salt or just stronger flavour in general.

Actually one of my time travel fantasy wishes is to see people in the last eat the modern versions of their favourite food. I’d feel bad about shocking their systems with large doses (to them) of microplastics, pesticides, and who knows what else though.

the worst is when people are like this for a dish that was invented as a way to use the shitty limited ingredients of the area because everyone was poor and that’s all they had back then. That’s not even tradition. Or slightly less annoying is when people try your traditional dish from the country your family comes from and say its not correct in some way, but they are from one of the 6 neighboring countries with pretty much the same food but the name is spelled slightly different and have regional plants as seasoning instead.

No. All I have to do is not be a predator, and no creepy glare, no threatening posture etc. It shouldn’t be difficult yet somehow here we are with literal tons of my fellow man feeling attacked with the need to retaliate, over someone else’s feelings. Actually I’ll let the creepy glare slide even since I have that built into my face and I’m not about to get surgery for it.

I guess another way to look at the whole thing, is a bear isn’t going to shoot or stab you. There are unstable fucks that shoot at people for accidentally going in the wrong driveway for food delivery or to turn around. In my city you dont even own the first several feet of the property whether you have a sidewalk or not.

Dunno man. I’m not a woman, but I have met a bear while hiking. We just stopped and looked at each other for a bit, then he grunted and went back to shoveling blackberries into his mouth and I just walked away. They are pretty common in the city too. They just knock down five or so garbages to pig out then go home. We’ve had a few tranqued and moved but nobody has been eaten. One guy got mauled and somehow survived after failing to take a selfie with a bear, I figure he went easy on the guy to teach him a valuable lesson. Maybe bears and the people here are just too used to each other.

Anyway anyone who feels attacked by the whole I’d rather a bear thing needs to stop being a pansy little shit. I guess all these “not me though” or “but a bear will kill you” types don’t get that they are outing themselves as being of questionable trustworthiness. The bear is imaginary yet men all over the place have come out of the woodwork to fight it. It’s weird really. And I don’t believe such a high amount of men who aren’t predators are bothered by it. They might not be sexual predators but I have no doubt they would gladly vote away womens rights because its their party or its the christian way or some other shit like that.

Truly innocent men would just leave women scared of them alone and that would be the end of it. There is no reason to convince them and doing so only makes them more afraid.

Edit: I just tried it out and hoob is now my keyboard. I’m kinda curious what exactly the gesture typing library does since this seems to work better than others using the exact same file.

I still don’t get why people keep defending it. Win+e doesn’t even open to a panel that lets me open the c drive without clicking other shit and waiting for it to appear first. An update also just put the search bar back on the task bar when I explicitly disabled it as soon as I got through the bad default options for days during the install. It also added copilot. Auto update is also supposed to be disabled.

While I’m at it fuck every dev that uses libraries/framework/etc that is known to not work in wine. There are thousands of better ways to be a shitty dev.
