Lol! I had it replaced two months ago. Of course now I’m wondering if Safelite runs Black Friday sales
I used to avoid driving at certain times of day because I thought my astigmatism was making it too difficult to see. Turns out it was my windshield! Cost about $400 to to replace
I knew someone that imported a pristine 90s Skyline from Japan to the east coast of the US. In less than a year he flooded the engine. No, not the way you are thinking! I mean he drove through a deep puddle after a hurricane and hydrolocked the engine.
I have extremely sensitive skin, but aluminum antiperspirant has been fine on it. I really get into trouble with aluminum-free brands, especially if they have baking soda in them. I have to say contact dermatitis in the armpit is a unique method of accidental self-torture.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL Social Pain (rejection) and physical pain overlap parts of the same neural pain pathway, and acetaminophen (paracetamol) alleviate social pain. Proof of social pain hurts as much as physical painEnglish
2·3 months agoI was just making a joke :)
Tylenol does not cause autism. Given how often people with autism experience RSD it is funny to think that an imagined cause of autism could also be a treatment for one of its symptoms

61·3 months agoThe commenter that you replied to was expressing despair at how difficult their life is because they have AuDHD. They are not saying that Tylenol can turn off their brain, they are instead asking for recommendations to escape their misery.
You could try understanding the comment chain and comments before saying something that sounds cruel like:
“Are you a nice, forgiving person? It works for good people only”.
Many neurodivergent people grow up abused by their parents because of their needs, and struggle with feeling like they are not good, not good enough, and not worthy of love. Saying what you did, unprovoked, to a ND person can send someone into a self-hatred spiral that is wholly unnecessary and has nothing to do with what they actually said.

8·3 months agoI’m on clonidine for ADHD. I can actually stop myself from speaking out of turn now, so maybe it has been a little sedating xD
Dating is kind of a nightmare. I know people say anyone can find a partner, but that doesn’t take into account things like sensory issues or hard boundaries around other things that keep us sane. I told myself a few years ago that I didn’t want to date while I’m university, but honestly it’s been so nice not forcing myself to fit into other people’s boxes that I might just stay single even after I earn my doctorate
I’m also with you on refusing to participate in a misery machine for a living. I hope you can hash out some kind of misery escape plan with your therapist tomorrow

121·3 months agoI hear you, I’m ND too. Reading about things like RSD being common in people like us has at least helped me be easier on myself.
Existence is goddamn difficult and I wish I had an answer, because turning my brain off sounds wonderful. Alcohol can do that, but it comes with some awful consequences. I’ve also abused quetiapine, but eventually that fucked me up too. Weed does not play nice with my brain

624·3 months agoThis is pretty funny given the recent political assertions that Tylenol causes autism, because rejection sensitive dysphoria is a symptom of autism/adhd
Edit: that N.B. is pretentious as fuck. Don’t take an incredibly tiny study with very little scientific traction as fact. Presenting it as fact demonstrates how little the OP understands about research

2·3 months agoMy service dog has some pit bull ancestry (roughly 16%), I know this because I did a DNA test on her. She is none of the things you listed, despite being part of the scariest years of my life that involved actual domestic violence against me. And even after we were attacked by a GSP on a walk last year, she has not shown those tendencies you mentioned. She’s also very gentle with the impolite tomcat I adopted recently.
I doubt most pet owners can rise to the level of training she and I have done. And service training is not a “boot camp then done” thing, it’s continued throughout their working lives. But they absolutely need the temperament for service first.
And just for fun: she also has Rottweiler, GSD and Chow Chow ancestry. She was donated to me through a reputable program that screens shelter puppies for the temperament needed for service.
Nic cage is probably one of my favorite actors because he overacts in a way that I find very entertaining.
David Schwimmer looks exactly like a shorter, darker haired version of my brother.
And now I’m confused about whether I actually love Nic Cage or if I miss my very goofy brother lol
