Usually hair is long and typically sparse on animals like us, fur is short and covers the whole body like a moose.

not true you have to open the radial wheel menu and select the gun you want by holding a button down and dragging the stick in the direction you want and then if you want a variation of that gun or type of gun there is a third button to press
alternatively I believe there is also another button to holster/unholster
