  • the sprouts are a similar size and shape to those chocolates, and theyre hidden under the gold wrappers, meaning the actual chocolate isnt visible from the outside. So, they can remove the chocolate, wrap the wrappers back over the sprouts, and put those back in the package so as to make whoever it is given to think theyre getting chocolate, until they unwrap one.

I mean, it was inarguably violence, and that violence seems to have a political motive (since changing or reforming the healthcare system is considered a political issue), and there is an element of using fear to further that end (since he would obviously have known that he cannot realistically change everything by himself or even just shoot every health insurance CEO, but shooting one while featuring a catchy phrase to make it clear the motive was being fed up with the health system, potentially makes all the other such CEOs and people in similar positions afraid that the next guy to try this might go after them next, and that more might be inspired seeing the shooting). Id argue that it does technically fit the term. People are just so used to that term being used alongside causes that they have no agreement with that they think it can never apply to a good one, or consider if it can ever be justified.

  • To be fair, most professions that would be needed to survive in an apocalypse or rebuild society, aren’t things that an already functioning modern society can support everyone doing anyway. We need farmers and carpenters and such, but we don’t need so many as to have openings for a majority of the population to be them, these days.

  • Unfortunately the games I need the edge of the screen for don’t appear to capture the cursor, not sure why. After a couple more hours of googling didn’t find me a way to do exactly what I was hoping, the solution ive ultimately found, though it is pretty janky and more clicks than I’d prefer to get set up, is to use some software called dual monitor tools that lets one make a hotkey that locks the cursor to the current display or unlocks it, set to lock when the program is opened, set the program to run on startup, set my tablet to extend the display so that I can rotate it as needed, and then whenever I want to actually use my drawing app, I unlock the cursor, get the app set up on the tablet display, set up OBS on my main display, make OBS capture a stream of my tablet display and then fullscreen preview that stream on my main display, and then move the mouse to the tablet display and use the hotkey to lock it there. I was hoping to find something a bit more convenient, and I have to imagine this is probably somewhat inefficient with my computer’s resources to stream itself to itself, but it does at least seem to get the effect I was going for.

  • Now I’m curious if this would actually be a viable business model, if it’d have any legal or practical issues, and if anyone already does it. Like, there exist companies that collect trash already, clearly that part is already viable, so if information could be collected and sold to advertisers for even a little more than the cost to collect that information, then it would be extra profit for the trash company as long as it didn’t negatively impact their core business of trash collection. Could be even more insidious and hard to opt out of than actually having someone look through one’s individual trash too, for example, if one could, say, sort out the cans from the trash for recycling purposes, one might also try to have a machine look for brand logos on those cans, and store information about which route a given load came from, potentially giving information about what kinds of beverages people in a given neighborhood are more or less likely to buy.
