But… that costs money.

But… that costs money.

It’s fairly common, especially if the residents are wealthy, they just incorporate their neighborhood area.

You mean meatloaf topper, because that’s all it’s good for.
Fries need to be dipped in mayo.
Jaws was released in '75 and PG-13 was created in '84.
It was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom that was a catalyst for PG-13. It’s probably no coincidence that Steven Spielberg directed both Jaws and Temple of Doom.
PG-13 didn’t exist when Jaws was released.
I’m not arguing against your point, just clarifying why it is PG.

What we, the product, should be doing is selling our engagement to companies that need new and unique data to train AI models.
The data we create (including this interaction) is more valuable than the ‘service’ Facebook provides.
Maybe that’s the way Lemmy will eventually enshittify, by paying people to join it and interact so that the data can be used for AI training… who needs advertisers? (Though, try to avoid the urge to tell them to go fuck themselves)

The solution is to have stronger privacy laws.
If everyone followed your solution then Graphene will become the normie os and Facebook will start targeting it. Choosing an esoteric system for yourself is a good way for a free people to protect their privacy, but it won’t scale.
When we write our new constitution we need to include privacy as a right.

I just saw an amazing concert at a venue built and paid for by the local government of a nearby town. You can only get tickets through the venue (no Ticketmaster), parking is free, prices are reasonable and it is an absolutely beautiful venue that artists want to perform in.
This is in a very red state (and very red town) in the US. There’s still some good stuff out there if you look away from the horror show that’s our federal government.

Same. I bought the lifetime pass on sale many years ago, my setup is still working fine without me having to have touched it for at least the past 3 years outside of applying an update from time to time. I don’t stream their free shows or movies and have those setup so that they don’t even show up as an option on my tv.
Do I wish it was still the same company it was a decade ago? Of course… but so far they haven’t impacted my experience to the point that I feel the need to replace it with something else. The second that happens I will be spinning up Jellyfin.

Please, no blasphemy.
Also, it didn’t start with Harambe… it started with the end of the world in 2012. Harambe was just another casualty of the Mayan Calendar.
The catch is it’ll be enshittified as soon as it can.
